Until 1988, the Public Administration Department served at the Bahçelievler campus of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Marmara University. As of October of the same year, it became the first higher education institution in our country to teach French. After the agreements with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988 and the French National Foundation for Political Sciences in 1989, he settled in the "Summer Mansion" of the French Embassy in Tarabya in 1989. The French Public Administration Department, which gave its first graduates in July 1992, was connected to the Faculty of Political Sciences established in 2012 and started its new academic year at Anadolu Hisarı campus.

Our Department, structured in the French Institutes of Political Studies (Instituts d'Etudes Politiques, IEP) model, has student and faculty exchange programs with important institutions in the field of political science in France. Our graduates are admitted to prestigious educational institutions in France such as ENA (Ecole Nationale d'Administration), IEPs and Sorbonne to continue their graduate education with scholarships provided by the French Government or the European Union.

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration (30% English) was founded in 2012 with the restructuring of the Faculty of Political Sciences, under the name "Public Administration" and started its undergraduate education and training life in 2014. In 2016, the name of our Department changed to “Political Science and Public Administration”. Our department offers a rich and nutritious program regarding both theoretical debates and reflections in practice of both political science and management fields due to discipline. The scope and the quality of education offered by other disciplines related to the field of public administration and political science to be one of the most important academic centers in Turkey is a very strong candidate.

The department focuses on the basic dimensions of public administration such as constitutional law, administrative science, administrative law, local governments; In addition, it deals with technical issues such as economics, public finance and tax system of the management field. Introduction to political science, political thought and history, Turkey's social structure, political sociology, Ottoman and Republican era in classes with fields of law, such as addition, civil law and labor law basic course in terms of political science such as political life rich and interdisciplinary program offered.

As of the fall semester of 2019 academic year, two undergraduate programs with different curriculum and education languages ​​are carried out within the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. These are Political Science and Public Administration 30% English Program and Political Science and Public Administration French Program.
